DTS Neural Surround is the bridge between stereo and surround sound audio. Products with the DTS Neural Surround technology offer seamless conversion between stereo and surround sound audio through a special capture, edit, management and delivery process.  Stereo and surround audio can be presented in a consistent, rich surround environment, while the surround content is also preserved within the stereo environment.

DTS Neural Surround UpMix technology can output 5.1 or 7.1 multi-channel surround sound from stereo or 5.1 source material.

DTS Neural Surround UpMix spectrally separates individual audio elements and places each in its intended location within the surround environment. This results in unparalleled image placement and stability. DTS Neural Surround UpMix does this without compromising the artistic license of the content creator.

Stereo content can be translated into width and depth information, creating a pleasing and enveloping surround image for the listener.

Matrix-encoded Lt/Rt stereo signals can be upmixed, providing a higher quality surround sound experience than that of traditional matrix technologies.

When DTS Neural Surround UpMix is used with the DTS Neural Surround™ DownMix, this results in a superior end-to-end, discrete-sounding surround delivery system.

DTS Neural Surround DownMix technology can output stereo or 5.1 content from 5.1 or 7.1 multi-channel source audio.

Surround Sound to Stereo

DTS Neural Surround DownMix technology reduces multichannel surround sound to a stereo mix that accurately represents the original intent of the content creator.

The DTS Neural Surround DownMix uses patented “Active Correction” technology. By analyzing the audio, the phase and intensity are rewritten, creating a pristine Lt/Rt stereo mix.

This process eliminates problems that traditionally occur in matrix surround downmix systems, such as comb filtering and spatial distortion. DTS Neural Surround DownMix creates a natural sounding stereo mix that is spatially true to the original multichannel localization.
