Despite the best efforts to standardize audio volumes, there is still no real way to control the varying volume levels between the many different sources of entertainment that compete for the viewer’s attention.  Blu-ray discs, online videos, CDs, home movies, broadcast, DVDs, streaming music, all have their own optimal playing levels.  We have all experienced the commercial that plays twice as loud as the show we’re watching. Having to constantly monitor and change the volume to fit the media is an annoyance and inconvenience to the consumer.

DTS Symmetry solves volume variance, by balancing the perceived volume level of the sources without compromising the quality or feel of the content.  By constantly monitoring and balancing the level differences between all of the different audio sources and formats, DTS’ advanced signal processing accurately detects and regulates the perceived loudness levels of the different audio sources. Once detected, DTS Symmetry applies the appropriate gain or attenuation. Consequently, low levels become louder and high levels become softer. The result is a high quality natural-sounding audio experience without artifacts or annoyance.
